For as we at GMI will be working closely with the new members of the JB crew in our  pan European EE Music project (Energy Efficient Music Culture) we are more than happy to help Julie’s Bicycle in this search.

Prompted by the return home of their Arts Director Catherine and imminent maternity leave of their Environmental Sustainability Director Claire (both of whom will be sorely missed) they are looking for four exceptional people with ambition, creative flair and an unwavering commitment to the environment and/or creativity to join a thriving team at the heart of the cultural response to environmental sustainability.

They are looking for:
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
We have created the new position of Development Director, who will lead and deliver Julie’s Bicycle’s innovative and pioneering growth and development programme. The Development Director will work closely with the CEO to generate a coherent and flexible business development strategy true to our mission and company objectives. S/he will build on a culture that delivers innovative thinking and strategic ambition with business return and smart communications. The Development Director will have a proven track record in sustainable and creative business development, strategic relationship manager and effective company positioning. The post will be a key member of the senior team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive and the Board of Directors and will work across the charity Julie’s Bicycle and its trading arm, Julie’s Bicycle Trading. Trustworthiness earned through delivery of results and smart thinking will ensure the Development Director is a key voice. S/he will be a strong, organised and inspirational externally-facing advocate, capable of leading by example and setting a direction that others want to follow. S/he will have a network of contacts that they will be able to leverage.

HEAD OF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS
The Head of Finance and Operations will work with the CEO and Development Director as the third member of the Senior Management Team ensuring the organisation delivers on, and is publicly accountable for, its mission and key objectives. S/he will be responsible for consolidating and developing tight systems of financial and operational management and accountability. S/he will be responsible for ensuring all necessary accounting procedures and policies are adhered to and reported on accurately and on time. S/he will support the strategic development of the company and be a key voice contributing to overall planning cycles. S/he will bring excellent commercial judgement to financial decisions and ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget. S/he will be primarily responsible for operational decision-making and challenge the team to continuously improve.
The Head of Finance and Operations will oversee operations to ensure we maximise efficiency and effectiveness, and that we deliver on our eight Organisational Objectives as set out in our 2 year plan. S/he will monitor and evaluate our programmes ensuring that our key KPI’s are achieved. S/he will report directly to the board on finance, presenting management accounts quarterly and Annual Accounts for audit. S/he will ensure the Annual Report is an accurate reflection of achievements.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY DIRECTOR (maternity cover, 6 months minimum)
The Environmental Sustainability Director oversees a significant portion of the consultancy portfolio of Julie’s Bicycle Environmental Sustainability Team working with a team of three and directly managing the content and delivery. The role reports into the Head of Finance and Operations and the senior team comprising the Chief Executive and the Development Director. The Environmental Sustainability Director will work closely with the Arts and Communications teams to ensure team synergies and complementarity. The Environmental Sustainability Director oversees a significant portion of the consultancy portfolio of Julie’s Bicycle Environmental Sustainability Team working with a team of three and directly managing the content and delivery. The role reports into the Head of Finance and Operations and the senior team comprising the Chief Executive and the Development Director. The Environmental Sustainability Director will work closely with the Arts and Communications teams to ensure team synergies and complementarity.

ARTS COORDINATOR
The Arts Coordinator will be an important member of the arts team, focused on delivery. The team is responsible for designing and delivering an annual programme of events, developing resources for the Julie’s Bicycle website, running training and workshops, facilitating networks, and supporting bespoke consultancy projects with individual subsidized and commercial clients alongside the Environmental Sustainability Team. The arts programme is designed to increase engagement in environmental best practice across the music, festivals, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature, and other creative and cultural communities. The programme is delivered in partnership with associations, membership bodies, development agencies, local authorities, Arts Council England, and pivotal organisations within both the environmental sustainability sector, and the creative and cultural sectors.
